Military Records

Military records may be held in the county recorder's office. Virgil D. White has abstracted records from various wars and you may found his publications in genealogical libraries and also for sale on Amazon, out-of-print book sellers, and occasionally on eBay.

You may also order veterans' records from the National Archives in Washington, D.C.

War of 1812 Pension Digitization Project has completed records from A-M and they are avaialable to view for free at fold3.

Various military records for the United States may be found at FamilySearch. You will need to create a free account to view them. Records may also be located at subscription sites.
